This needs subscription but the German translation is free and has some very nice pictures.

Happy Pongal Abi! And the big Kolam reminds me the times when we used to sit on the thinnai with sugarcane and watched the cows and bulls run amok on the streets (occasionally veering towards the thinnai and spoiling the kolam too while scattering us screeching towards the door).

    Happy Pongal!
I always wonder that how that Kolam comes out so good most of the times.
I guess the positive feeling inside the creator makes the outcome to be "BEAUTIFUL".

Thank you all for the greetings. Wife, Niece and Friend are thrilled -- and so am I -- by all the nice words about their work of art.

Swarup: Thanks for the link. While I couldn't get the pdf version, I did have access to the article online. It's great!

TGFI: I'm so glad that you noticed the header. Thanks!

Bruno: Thanks for your post explaining the symbols in the Kolam. Wonderful!
