The Hindu has indeed come a long way since it published this cartoon to publicly rebuke its Deputy Editor With A Blog.
I hope Hindu is not trying to be funny here. On one hand they support the Chinese tyranny and on the other they talk about the blogger control act. I wonder why the same logic doesn't apply to The Hindu's favourite country China. Amazes me.
ReplyDeleteBut jatkesha, on the third hand while we all criticize The South Madras China Post we continue to patronise the paper and are always soft on genuflecting Sinophilic editors N.Ram and Sid Varadarajan.
ReplyDeleteBut jbeck, I would much rather read 'The Hindu' except the editorials and opeds than Times of India (which almost seems like a porn magazine) and the ilk. There is decent coverage of other aspects I care about: music, arts, sports (though the cricket reporters shamelessly ape ESPN-Cricinfo content), culture etc.
ReplyDeleteI didnt see any specific rebuke aimed at anybody let alone the Dy Editor. The "million monkeys getting to type on the internet" is not a bad comment in itself and not off the mark.
