Sad day for Virginia Tech

Two handguns. A deranged man. 32 young lives, extinguished.

It's a sad day for all of us.

  1. yet the gun lobby only gets stronger with each such freak case. i cannot understand this convoluted thinking - more guns = more protection against such crimes?

  2. It is quite unbelievable. And what is sadder is nothing will change as far as gun laws go here in Virginia. I've had people tell me that everybody should have been armed with a weapon then someone would have stopped him. or better still he wouldn't have dared. Is that what things will come to? When we send our kids to school armed with a handgun?

  3. and to add to m's point, those who believe that a gun in every backpack would have prevented the 34 deaths yesterday don't quite seem to understand that the same policy would lead to well more than 34 additional deaths before it was eventually revoked.
