Coaching classes

Some nifty statistics about the coaching industry in India in this story by Shreya Biswas:

PK Bansal, CEO, Bansal classes, a leading player in Kota, gives an estimate, “There are approximately 40,000 students appearing for enrolling in various centres in Kota out of which 20,000 would be for IITJEE. The revenue this industry gives Kota could be well around Rs 400 crore. We ourselves cater to 7,700 of them.” There is a significant market for school coaching, especially in Western India.
