How the Other Half Lives

Over at How the Other Half Lives, our team has doubled in size in just the last three months.

The latest to join us is Gawker (who blogs here and here), and he starts with an open letter to the dear leaders of Shiv Sena on their "decision to protest against the desecration of the statue of our good leader’s wife, Mrs Meenatai Thackeray".

I count this post (from two months ago) as among Gawker's best.

  1. As Jaypal said, this kind of posts can mislead people. I would prefer direct and if possible simple posts. Simplicity is not always possible since many issues are complex and related.

  2. FYI, he also blogs at http://haftamag.com/www.haftamag.com

  3. While I see Swarup's point, I think there's a value in occasionally making a serious point through a degree of laughing at ourselves. That's what I see Gawker doing, and that's why he's part of the HtOHL gang. (Though he is welcome to write any other stuff as well).

  4. That's a lie, many members do not write for your blog anymore, e.g. Anand, Pablo and Vikrum. Uma really shouldn't write for this political blog.

  5. Swarup, Krish, Dilip: Thanks for your comments. As Dilip said, Gawker brings his own unique (has he copyrighted it?) way of discussing issues. I believe he is a great addition to our HtOHL team.
