Mark Johnston fires the first shot in his editorial at the journal Genetics with a journal-to-journal comparison (within a select set of biology journals) of the journal impact factors (JIF) against what he calls the "Journal Authority Factor" (JAF), the average h-index of the journals' editors. The inverse correlation (see the table, above) is pretty strong!
This editorial gets an enthusiastic response from Stefano Bertuzzi of American Society for Cell Biology.
