Love in mathematics

Be my multiple, I'll be your factor.

This geeky sweet-nothing is the title of Chapter 6 in ...

... Class 5 mathematics text from NCERT!

NCERT rocks!

* * *

The title seems to be an NCERT original; almost all the links from Google are about this text / lesson.

* * *

There's one more reason NCERT rocks. Its texts for all the classes are available online for free. I have browsed through some of them, and they are very, very good.

Hat tip to Varun, our son's friend, our friends' son, and a student of Class V in the Kendriya Vidyalaya in the IISc campus.

  1. Thanks for posting the links. Most IIT/IISc employees send their kids to KV's which follow the NCERT syllabus. I haven't heard too many complaints.

    In places like Bangalore, now there are "international" schools that charge upwards of $50k/mo on tuition fees. Are these kids getting a better education? I know these are fighting words, but your opinion would be much appreciated Abi.

  2. Hi Abi,

    Could you provide the links for individual chapters? The NCERT repository has only the contents pages with hyperlinks to other chapters. But the hyperlinks are broken.

  3. Thanks for the link. I want to compare it with class IX of the AP State Board text --this has a diagram to show polarisation of an atom, by drawing a circle with two dots at the opposite ends (shows a polarised atom) and ditto with dots next to each other(atom not polarised)
    It is difficult to unlearn such things.
