Never heard of GArchiver that apparently helps back up your GMail account on your machine. Until I saw this [via sivacracy.net]. Bottomline: Don't touch this program!

Using IMAP, and setting your mail client [Thunderbird :)] to save local copies of all emails.or3. Going crazy g33ky and using fetchmail like here.Keep up the good work Abi!
