News you can use ...

Never heard of GArchiver that apparently helps back up your GMail account on your machine. Until I saw this [via sivacracy.net]. Bottomline: Don't touch this program!

The post I linked to appears in a blog called Coding Horror. How appropriate!

    Then again, for those seeking to make local copies of their gmail info, how about:

    1. Using POP, which is provided by gmail.

    or

    2. Using IMAP, and setting your mail client [Thunderbird :)] to save local copies of all emails.

    or

    3. Going crazy g33ky and using fetchmail like here.
