A not-so-subliminal message from Google

This 'quote of the day' appears in Google's personalized home page today:

The least of learning is done in the classrooms.

-- Thomas Merton

This is not encouraging at all. I start teaching today.

  2. I would usually agree to that statement. Unless the class is taught by exceptional teachers - which makes all the difference. All the best for teaching in the new year! :)

  3. Abi, all the best for the teaching. I am so sorry I could not say this earlier but it was Horrible to see IISC being attacked. I was traveling at that time. The attack leaves me really distressed.

The masters of the universe -- I mean, Google -- may have had an interesting and timely message for me (and others like me). But I like that quote by Thomas Merton, it's so ... liberating.
