Remarkable. First, do you expect MHRD to say that there was something shady behind the advertisements? Second, do you actually believe that the whole thing is about ensuring "a diversified pool of candidates." This is not a lecturer's position or something...The number of qualified candidates is going to be small anyway and probably well-known to the search committee. Is there any evidence given by the MHRD to suggest that the selection committee is <I>not</I> doing its job properly - in particular, that the committee has failed to ensure a "diversified pool" of candidates? (And what does "diversified pool" mean anyway? Code word for "approved by the MHRD"?)<BR/><BR/>None of this is to say that all is well with the way the selection process is carried out as of now - just that the MHRD's justification just does not hold water.
