I have seen in and out of Swedish system during my 5 year of stay there as a graduate student. I havnt seen such a nice and faboulous place for doing research anywhere in the world (including the top universities in US.)<br />Higher education (up to Ph.D.) is completely free in Sweden! Also Ph.D students are considered employees rather than students. I am even eligible for pension which can be claimed <br />after turning 65. For last two years job market is slighly bad in Sweden. The welfare system is mainatained because of successive rulings of Social Democrates (with the support of left parties) for last 15 years.
